Our journey kicks off with the pick-up starting at 8:30 am from centrally located hotels in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca.
We travel along Route 38 until we arrive at La Merced, our first destination, famously known as "The hidden paradise". Here, we embark on a city tour of this expansive canyon nestled between the Ancasti and La Graciana mountain ranges.
During our stroll, we will traverse Balcozna to admire its lush mountains and streams in a panoramic manner. As the Quechua name implies, it is the “enclosure of the valley.” This serene haven boasts its own microclimate, perfect for relaxation and contemplation.
Our tour continues with an ascent up the Cuesta de Singuil, linking two notable towns, and along this journey, we will explore a multitude of towns dotted along the route. From this vantage point, we will witness breathtaking landscapes such as the Yungas Jungle, natural grasslands, and extensive planted fields.
After descending the slope, we will rejoin Route 1 and pass through towns like El Bolsón and Los Varela, offering us a panoramic glimpse of their unique attractions.
Ultimately, we reach the town of La Puerta, from where the Valle River leads us to the Las Pirquitas Dam, the province's largest reservoir, distinguished by its unique construction materials. We will stop for approximately 20 minutes to take in the stunning views this location provides. After 6 hours, we will head back to the city center to drop you off at your centrally located hotel.
