Tour Description

Excursion from Fiambalá to the Road of the Six-Thousanders and Balcony of Pissis

Enjoy a unique high-mountain adventure in Catamarca as you explore one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Andes: the Road of the Six-Thousanders, including an ascent to the impressive Balcony of Pissis, located more than 4,500 meters above sea level.

The excursion begins every day at 7:00 a.m. with pick-up from your accommodation in Fiambalá. From there, we travel by 4x4 vehicles along National Route 60, heading west toward San Francisco Pass. At kilometer 80, we enter Route 0 of the famous Camino de los Seismiles, or Road of the Six-Thousanders, a scenic route surrounded by volcanoes rising more than 6,000 meters above sea level. During the tour, we visit some of the most impressive high-altitude lakes in the region, including Laguna del Aparejo and Laguna Celeste, before reaching the highest point of the excursion: the Balcony of Pissis. From this remarkable viewpoint, you can admire spectacular panoramic views of the six-thousander volcanoes and the surrounding landscape.

We then begin the descent and continue the circuit through Laguna Negra, Ojo de Campo and, finally, Laguna Verde, completing an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Catamarca Puna.

The excursion lasts approximately 9 to 10 hours and is ideal for travelers seeking extreme nature, high-altitude landscape photography and unforgettable experiences.
