In Catamarca, enjoy an exclusive private excursion from Antofagasta to the spectacular Salar de Antofalla.

During this full-day tour, you will discover Laguna Colorada, the Quebrada de Calalaste, and the Salar de Antofalla viewpoint, located 4,000 meters above sea level.

We will also visit Laguna Verde and stop for lunch in Antofalla, home to an 18th-century church and mill.

Afterward, we will explore Ojos de Campo and the Botijuelas area, known for its hot springs and a dormant geyser. We will return through the colorful Quebrada del Diablo.

Tour Description

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Antofagasta de la Sierra.

The tour takes on a panoramic character from approximately 5 km away, as we pass by Laguna Colorada and Quebrada de Calalaste. Along the way, you will begin to discover the region’s native flora and wildlife, including vicuñas, flamingos, and mountain pigeons, as well as adobe houses and breathtaking landscapes.

Our first stop is the Mirador del Salar de Antofalla, situated at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level. From this viewpoint, you can admire a large section of the salt flat. We then continue to the Green Lagoon, where small lagoons in shades of green, light blue, and orange create a striking natural setting.

At midday, we have lunch in the town of Antofalla, which offers several dining rooms where you can make a reservation or order upon arrival. The town is also home to a church and a mineral mill dating back to the mid-18th century. As Antofalla is a small community, this visit provides the opportunity to meet local residents and experience direct contact with the local population.

We continue toward Ojos de Campo, a group of circular lagoons whose unusual formation has attracted the attention of scientists. Next, we visit the Botijuelas area, where Don Simon Morales shows us a hot spring and an old, extinct geyser, along with an exceptional panoramic view of the surrounding landscapes. Here, you can bathe or simply place your feet in the warm spring water.

Finally, we begin our return journey through Quebrada del Diablo, where the land is covered in vibrant colors, before arriving once again in the town of Antofagasta.
